King Charles Amigurumi Crochet Pattern
I’ve recently had the pleasure to design a King Charles amigurumi crochet pattern for Hobbycraft. You can find it over on their Ideas Hub page. It’s free!
Before I could start designing this amigurumi I needed to do some research on what the King will wear on his Coronation day. Unfortunately there wasn’t a definitive answer but the general consensus was that he would probably wear his military uniform. After more research on what his military uniform looked like I had to make a decision on colours. This wasn’t easy as he has a few different military uniforms with different coloured sashes! So, instead I looked at the available yarn colours I had and chose the closest match.
The main doll pattern is made in one piece like most of my patterns (the legs and arms are crocheted on rather than sewn). The uniform is created using colour changes. I made the ears slightly bigger than my normal doll design. I also gave him some rosy cheeks with some simple blush added with a paintbrush.
The pattern comes complete with the crown, robes, orb and sceptre. Details are added using simple embroidery and french knots.
