BLACK CAT
Free amigurumi black cat crochet pattern. Crochet this cute little cat for Halloween. A perfect accompaniment to my Witch pattern.

UK Crochet terms – 10cm tall
You will need;
- DK cotton yarn in black (I’ve used Ricorumi)
- 2.5mm hook
- toy filling
- pair of 12mm cat safety eyes
- embroidery needle
- stitch marker
- small piece of cardboard

HEAD
R 1 Make a magic ring in black, 6dc into ring. Pull ring tight. (6sts)
R 2 2dc in each st around. (12sts)
R 3 (2dc in next st, 1dc) 6 times. (18sts)
R 4 (2dc in next st, 2dc) 6 times. (24sts)
R 5 (2dc in next st, 3dc) 6 times. (30sts)
R 6 (2dc in next st, 4dc) 6 times. (36sts)
R 7-12 dc in each st around. (36sts)
Insert eyes between round 7-8. Stuff as you go.
R 13 (dc2tog, 4dc) 6 times. (30sts)
R 14 (dc2tog, 3dc) 6 times. (24sts)
R 15 (dc2tog, 2dc) 6 times. (18sts)
R 16 (dc2tog, 1dc) 6 times. (12sts)
R 17 (dc2tog) 6 times. (6sts)
Fasten off leaving a long tail, then using a needle sew the hole closed. Weave in end.
EARS
Make 2
R 1 Make a magic ring in black, 6dc into ring. Pull ring tight. (6sts)
R 2 dc in each st around. (6sts)
R 3 (2dc in next st, 2dc) 2 times. (8sts)
R 4 (2dc in next st, 3dc) 2 times. (10sts)
R 5 (2dc in next st, 4dc) 2 times. (12sts)
R 6 dc in each st around. (12sts)
Fasten off leaving a long tail then sew ears onto the head.
BODY
R 1 Make a magic ring in black, 6dc into ring. Pull ring tight. (6sts)
R 2 2dc in each st around. (12sts)
R 3 (2dc in next st, 1dc) 6 times. (18sts)
R 4 (2dc in next st, 2dc) 6 times. (24sts)
R 5 (2dc in next st, 3dc) 6 times. (30sts)
R 6 (2dc in next st, 4dc) 6 times. (36sts)
R 7 (2dc in next st, 5dc) 6 times. (42sts)
R 8 In BLO dc in each st around. (42sts)
R 9-14 dc in each st around. (42sts)
Cut a circle of card the same diameter of the base of the cat’s body and place inside for stability. Stuff and stuff as you go.
R 15 (dc2tog, 5dc) 6 times. (36sts)
R 16 dc in each st around. (36sts)
R 17 (dc2tog, 4dc) 6 times. (30sts)
R 18 dc in each st around. (30sts)
R 19 (dc2tog, 3dc) 6 times. (24sts)
R 20 dc in each st around. (24sts)
Fasten off leaving a long tail. Use the tail end to sew the head onto the body.
TAIL
R 1 Make a magic ring in black, 6dc into ring. Pull ring tight. (6sts)
R 2-20 dc in each st around. (6sts). There is no need to use a stitch marker or keep a note of the rounds here, keep adding stitches until the tail is about 8cm or desired length. There is no need to stuff.
Sew the tail onto the back of the body.
